o god im dumb. USB / laptop mousepad thing

    Hi everyone, ok in a attempt to fix my sisters unworking USB drives i deleted the USB root hub or w/e the main part....stupid windows website said it would auto refind the drive and install on boot like new hardware...they didnt say that toshiba linked there USB drive to the mouse pad thingy....to make a long story short niether the mouse on the laptop or the USB drive works. Also when u go into mouse in the control panel and the hardware at the end it doesnt show anything in the white box....someone please help me!<3yall

    Hi, nibbro and welcome to MajorGeeks :)
    Don't berate yourself for what you did, as that is a part of learning. The important thing is that you tried. As for the USB ports/hub, does the device manager show any yellow exclamation points or red x's for the devices? Actually, the Windows website was correct and most devices will be detected and reinstalled after deleting.
    On all the Toshiba laptops that I've dealt with, Windows ( 2000 and XP ) seem to provide drivers that will work with all components. Provide a bit more information such as the OS and laptop model, and I'm sure that the knowledgeable people on this forum can offer help. :)
