O/T what do all the MGs do for a living

Im just curious where many of you gain your computer related knowledge, is it a work related spinoff or a personal interest. I myself sell computer enterprise management systems and work mainly with windows products.

 

Windows XP tech.

Soon to be unemployed, going to school full time and kissing technical support goodbye

Sr.Systems analyst: Network admin, workstation support,software support, database dev, web dev, app dev, other troubleshooting.
I'm a one man band and I want to leave the band real soon Like adryn, going back to school so I can get the hell out of tech support.

 

I'm learning this stuff, that I shoulda learned 20 years ago,, which I've only learned to regret recently
Used to paint houses, physcal injury makes that impossoble now.
Lesson= always have a back up plan

How I personally came by my computer knowledge was trial and error, mostly. Started with computerized lighting boards at the theatre, then moved on to needing to use them in my everyday life. Then I took the plunge and instead of buying my first desktop, I built one.

 

Same is true, except I've decided I like physics and design now

 

I was in charge of company computer network (hardware/software/network/you name it... small company) from '87 to 2000. Unix server with "smart" terminals through DOS, Win3, Win95/98. Since then it's just for fun for myself.

 

Student still, learnt from someone who helped us with a major problem one day, he walked me through it and then I learnt most stuff here, if you look at my first few threads, you'll see I used to be a right dunce, and still am in a lot of areas

 

Don't they still hang people in some countries for bad jokes?
