I have an image of a document that I had taken with my iphone last year. I want to convert the image into something like a word document but my program - infranview's OCR cannot convert it - it just picks up a character here and there.
Are there any OCR programs that are really good at reading an image of a document?

What format is the image in now?

I use Abbyy FineReader Pro here at work, it is a bit expensive. For Windows at home I have used Abbyy Screenshot Reader here is a list of alternatives, also I'll mention Kleptomania. Since you took the picture on an iPhone, did you try the app store? I believe Abbyy has a product there too.
Most have a trial - Klepto gives you 40 days full function. Try it.
