OCZ DDR2 800Mhz

I have a dual channel 2GB kit of OCZ DDR2 RAM,My motherboard is an MSI P6N SLI-FI(Platinum) it has 4 memory banks.I am having issues with running these memory sticks in dual channel.I know im suppose to put 1 stick in bank one and the other stick in bank 3.But when i do that the system does not boot,unless i put the sticks next to each other(bank 1+2).
But here the deal,when i have them in Bank 1+2 CPUZ has it labled down as running in dual channel.Is there something im missing here?

Those are the specs of my system just in case you needed it,im pretty savy with this stuff,so no need to dumb down your words to help me understand,just explain my situation the best way you can..

 

Are you certain they go in banks 1 and 3? They often go in the color coded modules. Check your manual. You probably have it set up right.

 

Yeah,ive checked,my manual says to put 2 sticks in bank 1 and 3 to run in dual channel mode,and at POST on boot up it says 800Mhz DDR2 Single Channel..But when i look at CPUZ it says its running in dual channel..

Im confused big time as to why its doing this.No big performance issues,everything is running perfect..Im just a WHy on earth is it doing this kinda guy..Im always wanting to learn and understand why things do what they do..Thanks for the reply though brotha.

 

i dont have anything else to add as to your original question but id just run some memory benchmarks in each mode to see if it actually has an effect or if the programs is reading it wrong
