odd .exe file keeps hitting my task mgr and knocking me off my dsl

I am a MOM that keeps the family computer running.. Here is what is happening.

every 15 minutes or so a .exe process shows up on my task manager with a random number letter combination. You notice it because IE goes to the "we cannont display the site you requested" splash page thingy.

i end task. refresh and VIOLA. back to normal

I have run this morning:
Adaware
an avast virus scan
Cleanup!
Free Fix
I have bazooka running always
