OE Denying Access to attachments

My Outlook Express denying me access to attachments I need. It says "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments" and I can't open them, even though I know who they're from and am expecting them. How can I bypass this feature? Have I lost the attachment and need to ask them to send again?

check the security settings of OE to allow unsafe attachements.

 

In OE click on tools, options. Under the security tab be sure Do not allow Attachments to be saved or opened that could be a virus is unchecked.
