I assume since MS no longer supports OEx, this means they are going to let it
    sink into the sunset.
At least that is what is happening to me, with loading delays abounding , chronic times of it hanging up, erasing programs requiring multiple attempts, etc, etc.
Hate to lose it, have used it for several years, and was (notice past tense) very satisfied with it. A little like saying adios to an old friend.
So, now starts looking for a replacement. Hopefully I can find one with a similar foremart

Skysarge, I sound like a broken record. You don't need an email program. Let your emails remain on the servers. You will have far fewer headaches if you no longer download all email to your computer.
If there is an email you want to be sure you have a) print it out and b) forward it to a 2nd email address so it will be on two servers.

The only Microsoft OS that came with Windows Mail is Windows Vista. For Windows 7 and 8.1, Windows Live Mail can be downloaded for free from Microsoft.

However, I think heeding plodr's advice would be a wise decision.

Apparently, you did not understand my previous post. Again, Windows Mail was the client that came with Windows Vista; It did not come with later versions of Windows. I know. I had Vista on a laptop I bought back in 2007, as I recall. And, I have Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. A reference: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/working-with-windows-mail

Again, Windows Vista is the only OS that came with Windows Mail.

We need to be precise in terminology here. Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail are not the same email client. As I said in my previous post, Windows Live Mail is a free download from Microsoft for Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1.

The only problem I have with using webmail is only having one Inbox, though that shouldn't bother Skysarge as it's the same in Outlook Express. I still hang on to Thunderbird as I have four active addresses and TBird gives me a separate Inbox and set of folders for each. I seem to remember Windows Live Mail does that too. Horses for courses.

I create folders in all my webmail accounts and move messages to separate folders. Even basic Juno, which I've probably had for 20 years has 10 different folder that I created aside from the normal inbox, spam, trash, draft... and I can create more if I need them.
