I am looking for help setting up my desktop PC to make automatic backups. For security I want to purchase a 2 TB storage device and put it in a remote (off network) location. Since speed will probably be an issue, I would do an image backup (about 800 Gb) and then follow up with daily incremental backups.

I have Win 10, going to 11 someday, desktop PC with lots of storage/RAM and good upload speeds (cable). My ideal would be a free backup program. Seems if I want to go to out of network storage it will be a paid version. I don't want to subscribe to a paid cloud storage site, thus the storage device I want to buy. Since I have two houses (one in PA and one in FL), both with Internet service, it would be easy to set up. Most likely I would do the same thing at both ends since I am a snowbird and spend 6 months in each location. It would be nice if I could access the storage device from devices other than the original PC I am backing up. I carry the PC with me when I move locations from PA to FL.

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
