   I have it set at the moment in .25 CM increments, and I would like smaller ones.

   Never found a way to adjust those ruler settings... always thought that they were default? yeah you can change the typ eo fmeasurement from CM > MM etc but thats all afaik!
   
   only tip I do have is that you can get accurate readings if you are moving the margins, tabs etc by holding the ALT key down whilst moving the margins, tabs etc
