Office 2007

I have a PC here that is in dire need of a format and OS reload. The PC's owner has his Office 2007 Student version install CD, but doesn't have the product key (of course). It's the same old story: "after I installed it I threw the disc in a drawer and threw the package in the trash". I have tried Produkey which usually works fine, and I tried Jalapeno. I can only boot to the Vista desktop in Safe Mode... any ideas on how to recover the key since the 2 apps that I normally use didn't do it?

Hi dlb

Give Everest a go and in its Software > Licences menu it shows my Office 2007 licence keys as they are written on the DVD case label.

May have to use http://majorgeeks.com/EVEREST_Ultimate_Edition_d4876.html as thats what I have installed and just tested as a double check it lists them.

Funny you should mention it LOL I just tried Everest UE and it only showed the Vista keys... does it matter that I'm in Safe Mode?

Jumped onto an x64 Windows and indeed seems as if many apps cannot deal with the two registries that x64 has, looks like they may get confused as Everest doesnt work at all even though they say its x64 compatible, thinking its not fully compatible myself, runs but doesnt find all info. ( as a FYI in x64 this is the info on the two http://support.microsoft.com/kb/305097)

But tried Belarc in safe mode and worked fine for me, so give that one a whirl http://majorgeeks.com/Belarc_Advisor_d1385.html do run it as Admin in Safe Mode, right click Run as Admin
