I searched your forums because I have a question about these account keys you can get to activate the MS Office already installed on my new laptop. I found one where the member was referred to a site "GoodOffer24". Is it really that simple? Just buy the key and the next time I open an Office program (MS Word in my case) and when prompted to sign in/enter account key, all I have to do is enter that key and I am good to go?

I also have a follow-up question regarding upgrading a current desktop computer to windows 10 since many of my online banking and shopping sites keep telling me that I am using an outdated browser and give me a hard time getting in. Windows Update also tells me now that they will no longer support W7. This part confuses me because for the Office key, I already have it installed on the new laptop I am using and just need to type in that key when prompted. How do I go about getting 10 on the desktop so that an account key will work?

    HI

TBH always get your Microsoft Office keys from Microsoft or a known retailer like Amazon, PC World (UK) or others, never from a random site as they may not be legit and your card data is stolen then.

As to the followup question, then you can in Windows 7 or banking just install the lastest browsers Chrome, Firefox and EDGE should all work ok with banking in Windows 7 as I have a PC with Win7 and can online bank. As to Office key has nothing to do with Windows and your banking, to upgrade to Windows 10 if I remember correctly the free upgrade has ended and to get Windows 10 you will need to buy the upgrade although a quick search and this may still work https://www.cnet.com/how-to/upgrade-to-windows-10-free-heres-how/ but not tried it as all my home PCs are Windows 10, so with all upgrades it may not work perfectly so backup all important data and also note the licence kesy for important software in case you need to re-install it again.

I'm confused. Is it working or not? I know in the past, computers came with trial versions. My friends had this and paid for a key from the store they bought the computer from. I had to enter a serial number that was inside a folder that they purchased to change the trial version to a fully functioning version of Office. I did this when I set up their computer.

Does your desktop currently have Office installed? You can not use the same account key for Office on 2 different computers (laptop AND desktop). You'd either have to buy another key from MS, subscribe to Office 365 and pay a subscription fee or use a free Office Suite like LibreOffice.
In the past, there was a Home and Student edition. I own the 2007 Home and Student edition. When you purchased that, you were able to install it on 3 computers. It doesn't have everything that a full version of Office had but it was enough for us as "home users".

I use Libre Office and it works fine for my needs. My husband always did more work on documents and databases so his computers Have Office and Corel WordPerfect Suite installed. I just need to be able to view and do simple corrections on the files he types for me. I can do that in Libre office.

Here are the current prices for different Office 2019 versions
    https://office-watch.com/2018/complete-price-list-for-office-2019/

Here is a questionable site selling Office 2019
    https://softwareproworld.com/index.php/software.html

Note the price of a legitimate Office 2019 Professional Plus is $559
Here they are selling it for $39.99! If it sounds too good to be true, it is a scam. You waste $40 and find out the key you bought doesn't work.

If you don't want to spend $150 for the cheapest version of Office, try a free Office Suite. They are quite good.

I'll post a review I found. I suspect it will be taken down because softwareproworld doesn't want unfavorable reviews.

I also read a review about a customer whose credit card was used in NYC after they ordered something from softwareworldpro. The person hasn't been in NYC in years and only uses this credit card on Amazon and Cleverbridge as well as purchasing software from softwareworldpro.

I've purchased at least half a dozen Windows 10 Pro license keys from GoodOffer24 and had a problem with just one (that I sat on for 4 months before trying to use it). GoodOffer24 guarantees that the key will work, or they'll send you another one. I can buy 10 or 12 license keys from them for the cost of one OEM license key. As far as I'm concerned, it's worth the risk.

    My 2 cents' worth....

Why are you quoting this? This offer has nothing to do with the offer referred to in the original post -
    https://www.techpowerup.com/258337/...buddy-deep-discounts-on-windows-10-and-office

These offers appear to have been genuine but are now time expired, as are later ones on the same site. If I needed more copies of Win 10 or Office I would, at the next opportunity, use the secure GoodOffer24 site with confidence.
