Let's see..where should I begin? :wave I need your help badly! :-o I have a dinosaure Windows XP Pro Serv Pack 2 PC. About 1 month ago, following a power failure, I couldn't Defrag my D:\ segment although I can do my C:\ just fine! When I tried to defrag there was a message saying that there was a chkdsk /f scheduled which I did along with the C: portion at the next startup, but it didn't recognized that I did on the D: drive...Then Abracadabra: no more dfrg.msc nor dfrg.inf. To top it off, there's also a message saying I don't have a defrag installed on my PC :confused Then I noticed I have some files moving around (pictures.JPG and documents.DOC). Recently, I also had a Trojan.Ert & AGENT.Ck warning. My C:\ drive has 12.4Go free space on a total size of 29.2Go, my D:\ has 124Go free space//157Go. While doing the Malware removal*procedures, I tried to install Java but this message came up: Java is not a valid application for WIN32. I had to install it in C:\Doc&Sett\Symfunny\Desktop. Combofix download brought this message: internet Explorer has blocked this download for security reasons. I managed to install it on my desktop but when I tried running the program, there was a message that my Avira Antivir is still activated although it wasn't, resulting on me not being able to do this task...I tried to retreive SASlog.txt, but failed to do so. Can't find it! In the event of a system restore (which date should I use?) or reinstall defrag, I would need all the procedures so I don't make more problems on my PC. Please note that I bought this PC from a newspaper add, so I have 2 home made CD's for Windows (one titled "standard" and one titled "add-on"). I feel I'm in good hands with your team and will greatly appreciate any suggestions for fixing my PC! Ready for battle! :major

I am not seeing any malware in your logs. I suggest you post in the software forum for further assistance.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.We recommend them for doing backup scans when you suspect a malware infection.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Malware removal from MajorGeeks = $0

Thank you TimW for your reply! Is it OK for you not having received the SASlog.txt and for me not being able to do the Combofix procedures? Would these 2 steps indicate the existance of any malware on my PC? If they're not necessary, I will post my inq in the software forum as you suggested! Thanks again! :)

Although both logs would be helpful, they are not necessary for the cleaning. We can double check your system by having you run an online scan:
    eSet Online Scan.

Good afternoon TimW! I scanned my system with ESet Online Scanner which found 2 threats (at your convenience see attached file to have a look). Do I need to do another procedure following this report? Thanks again for your help :)

Nope, as one file is a false positive with MGTools. You're good to go. ;)
