Today is my son's 16th Birthday, he just got his learner's permit last week.

Pray for my wife's and my sanity rolleyes :-D

[since it's also Caliban's birthday as well, I didn't want to highjack his birthday thread with this......]

Thanks ..... He's driven our cars a couple of times now, he's done fine. One time he glanced over to the left and I noticed the car was going towards the right edge of the lane and I reached over for the steering wheel and yelled his name,..... whew! :duck

I was lucky as dad started me 'driving' sitting on his lap, as I couldn't reach the pedals yet, when we'd go up to the cottage. I had a whole kilometer of winding dirt road to practice on. That time was precious and priceless!:)

Well Happy 16th to your son Ken and I wish him safe driving.

So what you going to start him off in, a Military Hummer or an Abrams Tank? in those you do the damage ;)

Thanks, David maybe a Yugo -D

He thinks he's getting a car when he gets his license (when he log in enough time on his learner's) , but my wife and I both said, "No way!". No $$$$ for that. Possibly when I'm riding in my carpool, he may use my car to go to school or be a taxi driver for my wife and me. ;)

Yeah they are like tanks, I'm sure the steel they are built with is 3" thick ;)

Whats the traffic like by you Ken, and to his school? I know some areas likely to have less busy roads and some are manic! we have similar here, one noteable is 5 lines wide with multiple turnoffs to two Motorways (Highways in US) and some days when it busy you are in the far left lane wanting to get in the far right, thinking "how the hell am I going to get over there... fly".

    Wenchie I R teh brat

My advice on teenage sons is go ahead and let them drive. But not until you get them their own car... with NO back seat. ;) And clear the sidewalks :p Tee hee.

Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

Congrats to your son, Ken - he must be one fine fellow to have been born on such an auspicious date. ;)

We live in a rural area, so the roads are not a problem around here. It's getting into the city areas that will make my wife and I and HIM a little nervous. That'll be in a couple more months or longer :-D
