Yes I would take it back it sounds like it may be a RAM issue and they should sort it out for you.

only seems to do it once the system has been on for 10-15 min (ie getting up to temp) any clue as to why this is? i ran memtest fine this morning then the 2nd pass failed horribly

If you are going to take it back (recommended) don't mess with it or the supplier might find something the argue about.

studiot is right. If it is warranty stuff, just take it back, don't mess with it! Once you start telling them it fails Memtest and such they may try to say you messed it up. Just take it back, and tell them compruter don't work!:cool

Most RAM comes in matched pairs when it is installed so I would be insisting on all the RAM be replaced as there maybe subtle conflicts between differing RAM modules (although same make and model the serials should be similar xxxxxx1 matched with xxxxx2).

As far as why the mem errors are occuring (hexidecimal reference errors) heat should not be a variable within the analysis and you may find u get 1-2 passes with no errors but u need to understand what MemTest is doing (to complex for me to explain here) basically random number generated matrices fired at the RAM and expecting the same response which is not getting!

The RAM is dodgy get all sticks replaced and if u get any flack from the place of purchase contact your local Govt Office Of Fair Trading (or your equivalent) and explain the situation, get free local legal advice of them and let them sort it for you.

    Good Luck
