I am no where near geekhood....but I birthed a benchmark of geekhood, so does that count? I have a problem with my laptop computer that I have not been able to solve. I have spent the whole afternoon researching it and this is my last try at finding out what I did and how to undo it. I own an HP 630 laptop with windows 7. I got it as a promotional when I enrolled in transcription school. It has never been great but it is what I have until I finish. Today I was trying to use my shortcut keys while learning a new software program and a tiny green light appeared on my right-sided shift key. Don't know what it is for or how I got it to come on. Now when I try to type a capital letter using my software, it will not capitalize anything. Please help....I have deadlines for class. I will appreciate any suggestions (my son is unavailable to help me.) Thanks in advance.

Push the left shift key and see if the light goes out. It would seem that you have CAPS LOCK on.

Some keyboards require to hold down the left Shift key, then tap once on the Caps Lock key to release Caps Lock.
