Old Case Question

Hey would a P3 ATX mobo fit in a P2 case? They used to use a different standard right? AT? Would the P2 have this or would it be ATX? How do I make sure thet the P3 mobo will fit? Thanks.

 

it should as long as it's an atx case, as most if not all should have. the way to looks is by going to the back of the case and seeing if the configuration back there is the same as the one on your motherboard. warning, though: some prefab'ed computers (eg the aptiva) has a proprietary design that requires some modifications on the case to accept your motherboard.

Oh, it'sn ot a pentium II after all, it's a K-6, that change anything? wern't k-6's older?

there is one way you can tell if the case is atx.. usually (is your case propritiery?).. you just have to look at the back, and see if there is a back panel where the mobo goes, that usually has a keyboard, mouse, usb, serial, parallel, etc, if it doesnt have that, and only has one hole where the big keyboard plug goes, its an AT case
