I've recently begun working for this company who has never installed an anti-virus or anti-malware program onto their computer. Shocking! So naturally the computer is in dire need of clean-up. I attempted to install McAfee yesterday only to have it fail. When I spoke with their support I was informed that the computer will have to cleaned up and all unauthorized users on the ISP address will need to be removed. They wanted to charge me $250 to clean it up and install a lifetime ISP protection package on the computer. I declined for now and decided to come visit majorgeeks.com for help first. Please help me get this computer cleaned so I can install McAfee and then hopefully be able to keep it cleaned with regular tune-ups (hahaha). Should also mention what it's doing..Everytime I attempt to use the internet, doesn't matter which browser I use Firefox, Chrome, or Explorer, random windows will open. If I attempt to click on a link or close a window then more will pop open. There is also evidence of malware on the files I copied to scandisk to take home to my personal computer for use. Thank goodness I scanned first. Thank you!

First thing to do is to rerun Hitman and have it remove everything it found.

Then Reboot and rescan with Hitman and attach the new log.

http://imageshack.us/a/img841/7292/thisisujrt.gif Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.

@westbayrob.... Please before running Hitman ensure that you do indeed first uninstall the below softwares:

    • ScorpionSaver
    • Search Protect

I was able to delete Search Protect but not ScorpionSaver. Everytime I attempt to delete the program it tells me "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable."

I did run Hitman again and removed everything it found. Rebooted and rescanned. The new log is attached. The Junkware Removal Tool seems to keep freezing at "Checking Processes" Will leave it running a bit longer and come back later to see if it's moved.

You can try using Revo Uninstaller to remove that program.

Rerun Hitman and remove that one PUP.

Tell me what issues you are still having, if any.

If Revo Uninstaller fails in some way or does not detect it, (I the free version struggles with 64 bit) then TimW can check the GetUnKey.txt for the scorpion saver entry to remove it that way.
