I have an ageing hp Compaq 6910p laptop. 4GB ram. It was running Windows 10 but overheating and shutting down. For the cost of a min sata 32GB card I booted it up with the pop OS.
My problem is that the booting up time is over 20 minutes...
    Any thoughts.

It took 26 minutes to boot.
    I don't think that's right.
Win 10 used to take a minute... ?

Compaq 6910p came out in 2007. Personally, I wouldn't pick Pop! OS as the best fit for a 12 year old laptop.

Gone back to Mint. Have been working on some 32GB mini ssd's that I picked up a while back.
I'm currently doing a dd clone copy through usb. 21GB to a bigger drive. It's been 50 minutes...

I think I should be looking for a USB3 laptop...

90 minutes and the light is still flashing.
Gparted didn't work? It took 25 minutes and said that it had completed the task.
I placed the cloned disk into the laptop. It seemed to start but it couldn't get past the black screen.
