    Hi Malware Fighters,
I'm trying to move the data from my parent's old WIN98 Pen II, 128 MB RAM, to a new XPSPII home. I had the bright idea I would check the old computer for malware before I move the stuff, but each step I take there's some new problem. I was able to run CCleaner, Runkey, Shownew, and Spybot S&D, however there's no functioning IE working at the moment. I don't know what the AOL browser is, but that's what I'm using as I write this. There seems to not have been any AV running for at least a year although Nortons is still installed. I can't open either Norton's AV or Norton's System Works. I wondered if you could look at what I have so far. I tried repairing IE via Add/Remove programs and wanted to uninstall it and reinstall it, but uninstalling it is not an option, only repair, add a component and restore the previous windows configuration. I think I've tried everything but add a component. I will post the Runkey and Shownew, try to run the HJT and post it, and then hear if you think I still need to run Bit and Panda. The computer is used very little, mostly for e-mail. Thanks so much!
oh, and the other question, could I move the old files and then scan them on the new computer? I'm looking for the fastest way.

Based on what you have posted thus far, all I can say is you have no malware and will need to work on repairing you OS or just Internet Explorer (or use another browser). But you will need to work this in the Software Forum.
