Old XP laptop and SSD

Dell Inspiron B120 with now 1GB RAM and 5400RPM 40GB HDD, about 6 years old. My SSD is basically unused ATM as I hardly ever reboot my main rig. I guess I have 3 questions:

#1 Is this guide any good, didn't find any negative remarks but my google skills are suspect.

#2 How can I transfer my OS to the SSD as I only have one HDD BAY?

#3 Would it be a good idea to install W7 instead on the SSD as I still have 1 license left, worried about drivers though.:confused I've been out of the loop for too long.

I upgraded the RAM TO 1 GB from 256($20 bucks:-D)and that really helped but the HDD access is still slow(I'm spoiled by my i7 rig). Any reason not to install the SSD? Thanks as always all.

Edit: Oops, didn't check to see if I have SATA connector onboard which may make this thread useless.:-o

The B120 will accept 2GB RAM though, $36 US, not too bad.

 

Hehehe. This was my gf's old laptop and she refused my suggestions to upgrade the RAM, 'Don't you touch it!'. Now she looks at its speed and thinks about why she ever spent $700 on her new rig and almost seems to be crying and only uses it for e-mail and light WP, I didn't tell her ' I told you so' for fear of being banned!:-D

This thread may at least be useful for those who are contemplating the same thing, just don't do it until you have completely researched it.
