Does anyone else think like me that with all the footage about repression in China that our athletes should be there, where it will give a huge amount of propaganda to the state regime.

As much as I don't like China's policies, a boycott would be as useless as the Moscow olympics boycott was, just hurt the the athletes, if their air doesn't do it. They might even clean their act up, ecology wise instead of building a highway to Tibet for some stupid reason.

Agree with augie, boycotts only hurt the athletes who have trained for many years for their moment of glory. I worry about the air quality, too. I think China will have to open up a lot, as they are revealed on the world's Olympic TV. Bazza

Should keep politics out of sport is my view.

Plus having this Olympics may just open up China more in the worlds media spotlight, these days it will be damm hard for them to supress.

I too think a boycott would do nothing but hurt the atheletes that have trained so much.

The whole thing is atrocious though.
