Omega drivers fixed my proble m,but why?

I tried 81.98 Nvidia drivers and the latest 84.21 .When I play dreamfall on high settings after about 2-5 minutes of playing my screen shows these wierd colors my whole screen goes black and I have to reboot,this constantly happend.Then I download Omega drivers and it works perfectly I have been playing for 3 hours on and off.Im thinking of keeping the Omega drivers.Are they any good or I should roll back to the real nvidia drivers, after I beat Dreamfall? The nivida drivers work good with all other games.Are omega drivers better then Nvidia's?

AMD Fx 53
BFG 6800GT 256mb
2gigs of ram

wat are the omega drivers? never heard of em.....

 

Sometimes it just works out like that,only thing I can think of is the omega drivers reinstalled a corrupt part of the old driver that needed in that particular game,try removing the omega driver,running driver cleaner pro and then reinstalling the lastest nvidia driver,follow the instructions in the readme

I have tried several of these optimised Drive packs and they do seem to be better than the standard. I have ExtremeATi at the moment and they are the best yet (for ATI)!

As to why they fix the problem well it may be like Rikky stated ensuring every remnant is removed from the previous install before a reinstall but I would like to think it is the people who are attempting to optimise these drivers. Basically it is some clever individual who is tweaking the drivers to get the best performance, in a way they are treating it like "Open Source" improving the Driver Pack and then passing them on to who ever wants them.
