On-board, and front USB ports.

    They don't work. I can't remember a time when they did work. The only ports that work on my system are the two ports in the back that are connected via PCI. I have an MSI Mainboard 865GM2. Help would be appreciated.

    If you open you case you should see a cable that go to your motherboard
    to your front usb port...

    If not there that's why your usb in front don't work.....

    The cable from the case is plugged in to my motherboard. Whenever Iplug anything into the USB ports, it says that it could not be recognized.

    Make sure the plugs are plugged in correctly, and havent shaken loose.
