    To Whom Would Care,

I do not know if I got this/these problems from a website or what. I had Windows Vista Ultimate running on one hard drive and Windows Home on another in a dule boot config. I tried to keep my music downloading and internet browsing separate from my business with important programs and files. What ever I got moved right over into both OS's so I had no clean OS to work from. The problems I have range from phony certs I can't get rid of and Microsoft files all moved into differant locations sometimes slightly changing the name. My windows Defender and firewall are a complete joke since they are just acting like they are doing something. So I tried the "hijackthis" first but it just told me that windows was not puting it in the right file inorder to function. It gave me instructions but to no avail. I reinstalled the OS's separtly so not to pollute the other and the problem was still there. I went out and bought the 150G Rapture thinking I needed a fresh start and then I could fix the others but the same thing happened I was not incharge of my windows or my computer. I'm sure that right now information is being extracted from me and going who knows where. I saw that my BIOS was a bit different and the settings had been changed so I figured that a code of some sort was being stored there. I then, twice, pulled the battery and used the jumper to clear memory. It worked at first my BIOS was correct but as soon as I reinstalled Windows I had the same problem. HELP

    Thank YOU
    Bryan

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

I don't quite understand some of what you wrote. You will have to explain in more detail with more specific and exact details and exact error messages. However I will preface this to say that this does not sound like malware especially if you are having the same problems after a format.

Give exact details. What files? Where did they move to? What were the name changes?

Please give the exact word for word message. And what do you mean you tried HijackThis. Do you mean that you already extracted it from a ZIP file and you are trying to run it? What instructions are you referring to?

Does this mean that after having the problem, you repartitioned and formatted the hard disk and then reinstall both OS's? And then you immediately still had the same problems? Are you installing from clean original CDs from Microsoft? Have you tried just installing only one OS without dual boot and does that work?

This still does not sound like malware, but there have been some cases where people have claimed that their BIOS was infected or corrupted. I for one have never seen any validated cases of this. If you BIOS is infected or is corrupted, we cannot help you fix that. You will have to find out from your PC manufacturer how to reprogram the BIOS.

Does your PC boot up at all? If yes, what kinds of things can you run? Can you surf? Can you download?
