Hi, I have just install a fresh copy of XP on my system after much headach (Link:wall: Here) and a new problem show up, Task Manager is showing my 805 as having only one core, ever when set to "One Graph Per CPU". System Properties see it correctly as a Pentium D, and i can see two processor in Device Manager. CPU Z also show only one, the menu is gray out. i have try 2 set of processor and MB and still the same problem. please someone help.

    Here some pictures:

according to your Device Manager pic, it does in fact show 2 cores (actually says 2 CPUs but it means cores) I really dont know why its not showing 2 cores in CPU-Z, maybe the mobo doesnt support dual cores? anyways, that proc is GREAT for overclocking with its 20x multiplier. You could bump the FSB up just a tad and get it over 3ghz no problem, even with stock cooling.

this mobo does support dual cores, it have the latest bios 0603. The bios show a Pentium D and processors count of 2.
    Asus support info
I can't think of overclocking now, not when there is still problem with the system.

it will show two processers in device manager if your processer has hyper threading also.

the 805 don't have HT, it only have a 553MHz FSB.

This doesn't look good, maybe it is a bad CPU.:(
