I am running an Asus l1n-64sli ws. I know this board in and out and have rebuilt this system and redone windows installs and know just about all there is to know about this system and its drivers.

They are all up to date and in functioning order. I checked all of my TCP/IP in network settings (4 and 6) and all were set to default as always.

Anyways, i noticed today that i couldn't access the usual sites, Facebook, Major geeks, even netflix... i searched and searched and i tried my usual fixes, nothing. I tried an fcheck and all went well. I still could only do some searches on google and access some support.microsoft.com pages. I got fed up and tried my other ethernet port. Everything worked!

I cant figure out what's wrong. Any ideas?

No new programs have been installed, i don't go to any sketch sites, and this machine is really only used for gaming and graphic arts. No programming or anything crazy. There is apache running as well as mysql. Other than that, just google talk and usual Microsoft processes.

    Hmmm,
Firewall set on that specific connection (Local Area Connection 1?)
Sounds like a DNS issue, can you ping the websites?
Does it resolve to the websites IP addresses?
Can you ping various websites IP addresses?
Set the connections DNS settings to googles public DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) for that ethernet connection and test.

Have you tried disabling and uninstalling the driver, reinstalling?
Try giving the TCP a static IP address, gateway and DNS.

Maybe a ipconfig/flushdns to start things?

Well, here is the weird part, (have to be quick off to work in a sec) i could ping all the sites with a nice 43ms ping avg and didn't lose a single packet. However, while trying to visit the sites, FB, my own and netflix and the sort it would just sit in the browser. I tried chrome And IE. i looked at internet settings nothing out of the ordinary. I didn't try to re install the driver for the port but i can try.

Hope this cleared up some things.
I will be back later. ty for the responses all!
