Got the nursery done and the furniture comes tomorrow...started a registry at Target today, so it's getting to the point that we just need the baby!! LOL

Was REALLY scared when the wife decided on "Fire Ant" orange, "Spring Breeze" green...if you wanna call it that!!!! But I was really surpised how well the border pulled it together!!!! You can't see it in the picture, but there is small bits of orange in the border.

    You're welcome!

Out of interest, what furniture are you going to get from Target? My daughter and son-in-law, who are expecting their first, have chosen Target furniture too, so I was just curious.

Another question...are ther traditions in the US as to what grandparents do e.g. buy the stroller, do the baby shower etc etc. I need to make sure I do my duties as a fully-fledged grandma :)

It appears as though I wasn't the only one yesterday having trouble posting!!

Actually we got our furniture ourselves, from Babies R Us, because she wanted to pick out something that was expensive, just for the sake of the kid using it for A LONG time!! So we got one of those convertible cribs that goes from a crib to a toddler day bed, to a full size bed, and then ofcourse the matching armoire and dresser. I was gritting my teeth the whole time we were paying for it...but after picking it up and dragging it upstairs and setting it up...I obviously got hands on experienve as to how heavy duty it is (VERY HEAVY!!!!) and it is styled so that the child won't grow out of it until...I'm guessing high school years. And if he or she want new furniture then...I won't feel guilty telling ("IT") to save your money!! LOL

However...I was looking at and trying to get her to buy the tatget furniture!! It cheaper but it is very sturdy looking!! Unfortunately...the set that she liked, didn't come in the color she wanted...and you know how it is...first child has to be perfect!!

As far as traditions that are cut into stone...I'm not sure, but I've got an E-mail on the way to my grandmother, who is VERY hip on that sort of thing...and I'll let you know what she comes up with!! My mom and ex-employer is throwing the baby shower for down south...and for here at home, my niece and sister in law are doing it. I do know that there are some traditions out there for those who have a whole slew of family member who can afford to follow such a guideline!!

The furniture we got is from the Babi Italia line and this particular flavor is called the Tea Stain Pinehurst Collection and like I said above, we got it a Babies R Us, but here is the website of the manufacturer (if anyone is interested)....

And here is the flier we brought home...it shows the convertible capabilities of the crib...

And here is the picture of our nursery now that we got the furniture in there!!

Sorry about the sun shining in, but we haven't gotten a blind yet.

That is the exact same style my daughter wants from Target, in the cherry red wood too. Yeah, it's expensive, but as you say, the convertible will last several years.

    Nice choice Mrs Rogvalcox ;)
