Onedrive And Word

Hi, I'm trying to set up a system for nurses working from a local church to share and update notes. I'm not an IT professional but the local IT shop tried a system with Google docs that was complicated and didn't work well. I've simply used the OneDrive account they have and set up a shared folder. They both access this from their individual laptops. The only problem so far is saving updated files. The Autosave sometimes turns off. It is easy to then re-save the file in the same place, but you get a warning, and I want the system to be as straightforward and stress free as possible. I know that opening a file from the folder affects Autosave, but even opening from Word sometimes does this as well. Any suggestions and ideas to prevent this will be welcomed.

 

• One reason why Autosave might not work is that your account credentials are not recognized by Office apps. You can try to sign out of all accounts in any Office app, then sign in again with your OneDrive account and see if that helps1
• Another reason why Autosave might not work is that it is disabled under settings. You can check if the option to autosave OneDrive and SharePoint Online files by default is selected in the Save tab of the File menu2
• A third reason why Autosave might not work is that collaboration is not enabled for the file. You can enable collaboration for the file by clicking on the Share button in the top right corner of the Office app and inviting the other nurses to edit the file3
