    Just wondering what "getrunkey" & "shownew" actually report.

    Chaslang would actually answer this best because he wrote them but basically "getrunkey" displays run keys in the registry and also can show hidden items that other utilities can't. The utility "shownew" displays new files created within 30 days or so, this helps identify certain files and infections.

    Yeah, Chaslang wrote them to help us better identify infected files and more locations as malware is becoming more stealth.
