Too much time, too much cash, and where are the parents?

 

I read about this on newsvine... it reminded me of a story my college professor told me. She used to be goth, until one day for her birthday her friends went to a graveyard and dug up a partially-rotted human ribcage and gave it to her. That was pretty much the last straw, and she decided she just wasn't that into it.

(She went on to be the professor who invented the class "How Do You Like My Darkness Now? Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the Gothic Tradition." Best class, and best professor, ever.)

 

Where was that at?

 

Hamilton College, in upstate NY. It's a pretty good/competitive school, and it's getting more and more "modern" type classes, like the Buffy one. I also participated in a really cool sort of fusion class where we designed a self-sustaining system of life, from the bricks on up to the system of government and society, on Mars, pulling students from all departments... physicists, biologists, engineers, artists, musicians, psychologists... it was pretty sweet.

Why, are you looking at schools? Or just curious?
