Oops! this PC is running faster than I thought it could

I've been working almost feverishly to get this W98se running as fast as possible.
I've done a little bragging that I've got this W98se running so well, that SeaMonkey loaded to the desktop in three and a half seconds. Today Seamonkey loaded to the desktop in 2-seconds. What did I do?

Hokay, So yesterday I dumped some junk from the registry, and loaded a couple things I found in: http://www.aumha.org/regfiles.htm
Maybe those tiny installs did it.

Would someone else try those tiny registry-fixes, and tell me if they get the same accelerated result?
If you peg it down to one thing, I'd really like to hear about it.
