How do I get the open with lists back to default. For example I have Garmin Fit files that now have Garmin Training Center as default. I don't know how or what to change them back to. Is there a setting that reverts all "open with' programs to initial default. If you don't know what program was supposed to open the files in the first place how can you change everything back to like new again. Please.

Most programs that "Associate" themselves with specific file types have the option to rest that through the programs "Settings", "Options" or "Preferences" dialogs.

You can also change File Type associations in Windows XP through:

My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > File Types tab.

However, you'll have to select which program to use for "Open" for each file type you want to change.

I don't know of a tool that changes All file types back to default, but maybe someone else does.

Thank You, I checked this out and made some changes. However this does not quite fix what I had in mind. I use Garmin Fit Files as an example, The files did not have Garmin Training Centre as preferred application to open these files. I never took any notice of what they were previously. BUT somehow I managed to change them to having garmin training centre as preferred application and now these files all appear with the logo etc on the files. I wanted to revert them back to what ever they were before, and thought there might be some way of doing this.

I'd say since you have .fit files and Garmin Training Center, that is the proper program to use to open the files.

This appears to be a graphics program that was mentioned, that is able to also open .fit files

Do you have that on your computer? If so, perhaps that is what you used previously to installing Garmin Fitness Center.

If you do not use XnView, then you have to look around for the graphics program you have installed.
