    Hi all

I was wondering whether anyone had any experience with the Opendisc.net site. The reason I'm asking is that a number of Sony cds released in Europe and other countries (not in the US) have been released recently that contain a program connecting the user to Opendisc to access "enhanced content". An example are the new Jimi Hendrix CD/DVD sets.

Given Sony's history of infecting people's computers with rootkits, I'm rather too nervous than try to use this program, without learning first whether it's safe.

    Hi,

I've looked into this one, and it's completely safe. The Opendisc application doesn't install anything on a computer, it just allows you to access bonus content.

I've got a few Opendisc CDs and it's much better than just the regular albums.

They also send quite a lot of cool competitions and offers, and it doesn't cost you anything, so you may as well take a look!

    K.

I agree with above, not caused any issues for me, its not a welcome addition bit not a rootkit.
