Opening 2 or more instances of the same program in Vista?

I am trying to play two seperate videos at the same time using VLC (my favorite media player) but Vista will only let me open one instance of it. This also happened when I was trying to use two instances of Prime95 for my dual-core processor. Is there any way around this? I have been searching forums and google for a while now and I haven't found anything. Thanks!

Also, here's an idea which I've never tested. If you have a flash drive, or external hard drive, download the portable version of VLC and see whether you run both it and the one installed on your hard drive.

CPU-Control handles the CPU-affinity for multicore-systems. Instead of running each process on both CPUs you can define it as you want it. For example, if you want to seperate the firewall and the anti-virus-software from the graphics-application.

I have mine set up to automatically allocate programs to alternate CPU's, but you have the option of specifying which CPU you want a specific program to use.

You will have to check out if it works on VIsta. Use at your own risk on Vista.
