opening a MS Works text file

    Hi all.
    I have an email attachment - a text file created with Microsoft Works. It has a .wps extension. I can't open it with MSWord or other M$ text editors (notepad, wordpad).
    I've even tried opening it with OpenOffice 1.1.0 to no avail.
    Suggestions?
