on my win7 computer CRTL D is the shortcut given to add a bookmark.
or,,, opera menu -> bookmarks -> add to bookmarks
the 'add to bookmarks' should be in the same popup as the 'show all bookmarks'
i do like opera, the built in ad blocker works really well.
but i like it better on my mac than windows, since a traditional menu is automatic on the mac.
    good luck with it.

I have Win7 and Opera. I show a heart symbol at the end of the address bar. When I mouse over it shows add to boookmarks. At the very right edge there is the 3 bar railroad looking sign which goes to setup.#rd down the list is 'Appearance'. In there is a 'show bookmarks bar' selection button.
