Opinion needed from those who have been to Florida!

The wife and I are planning out a family trip for next year, we want to take the kids to Florida, I want Disney (Been there twice and loved it). We have heard from a few people that Universal studios blows Disney out of the water. Can anybody disprove this? I have a teenage girl and to young boys, (8 and 9). Please give me some feedback. Thank you in advance.

 

If they've never been to Disney, then they need to go there at least once.

Then again...8 and 9, they'd probably enjoy Universal Studios more. MGM Stuidos is similar to Universal, but more for younger kids.

I've been twenty plus times to Disney, ten times to Universal. If the kids want the best rides Universal Islands of Adventure is the place. I'm a Disney freak myself.

 

Universal. Disney is more aimed at the whole toddler's and stuff where the rides are smooth and theres not much action. Universal on the other hand is something you'll all enjoy. There are rides that you'll want to go on, and rides that the kids will want to go on.

 

Depends on who you are and where you are going. Native Floridian here I will be your tour director for today. Epcot -test track and mission space the rest pretty boring
animal kingdom- not much
mgm- aerosmith, tower of terror, star tours some good stuff some good shows
disney world- lots of pretty good stuff space mountain, splash mt, thunder mt, etc. If you've never been to any, go Disney and or MGM

universal studios if you have never been go!!! for movie buffs and people who refuse to be seen in public with a stuffed character.
universal s. island of adventure handful of very good rides, but not a whole day's worth, buy the 2 park tickets.

if you are a ride freak forget all of the above and just go busch gardens. I hope you are going for a couple of days the hotels are pretty cheap and you would have more fun doubling up on park days.

ps timesharing- not worth it don't fall for it they llllliiiiiiieeeeee!!! oh and take me with you!!!!

 

almost 50 50 on this so far..... Eeeek I was hoping it would be a landslide for one or the other. I may have to leave it up to the kids to decide, do you know if there is much of a price difference?

 

universal was much more fun than disney but disney was fun too. My vote=Universal.

 

How long is the family trip? Why not go and see all the attractions?

I've been to Disney a few times, Busch Gardens, Sea World (get splashed by Shamu the killer whale), Kennedy Space Centre, etc. Haven't been to Universal but had an interesting time working at Cape Canaveral...
