Ok. I need opinions. You see, I took a picture of a bird. The colors came out really bright and horrible. So I downloaded InfranView and enhanced the colors. I did four different versions of enhancing the colors. I went a little crazy lol. Just tell me which one you like the best. Criticism is welcome (Constructive criticism that is.) :) I don't know if I like any of them :O I uploaded the original to show how horrible it was.

I can only upload 2 pics at a time I suppose so I'll uploaded the other two in my other post I suppose.

a cross between 1 and three Try to make sure you have black and white true, not grey in the picture. Three is better but you need to burn some color back into the bird, do you have photoshop?

O1 for sure. The rest the subject (the pigeon) is totally washed out and has no contrast. In o1 you can see some good texture on the birds chest and head.

No. Photoshop is too expensive. $649.

colours great, B&W lends itself to this type of picture very well, maybe just need to sharpen the pic up a bit ( unsharp mask option if your GFX app has it, works best )

    I vote for 01 also.

Is it a pigeon or a dove?

If its not a pigeon then its must be a vagrant dove, looking a bit worse for wear.

If you could get something in between the original and 01, then you'll have the perfect look (perfect in my opinion).

Right now, though, I'd have to say that the original is the best of them all. It looks faded and worn...Not unlike the bird itself. Perhaps the picture is nothing but conveyance of the birds rough life...who knows. I suppose you do.

What type of mood are you trying to express with this picture?

Out of the three 01 is the best………but, it looks like every thing else changed…..the background, and the fence look better, but there’s not enough contrast with the bird…it looks to me, as the bird is still moving, and that’s what’s happening, the bird isn’t in focus……and there isn’t much that can be done, to an out of focus photo……wobbles

If you're going to be working with photos a lot, you do need something better than the free programs. Photoshop Elements has most of the color/brightness/sharpening and many of the cool filters that the full Photoshop has, for under $100.00. Much more versatile that InfranView. See if you can sweet-talk your dad into that one. ;)

No, I'll credit you. You helped and all and I really appreciate it. Once I get all my problems sorted out on DA (I can't log into my account) I'll credit you. Thanks again for your help. What photo editing software do you use?

Good suggestion. I used PS Elements for a while before getting PS.

You may want to check out Gimp, Can. I linked to a page with some reviews, and it also has a link to the manufacturers site. The best thing about Gimp is that it offers many editing options featured in programs such as PS, AND it's free. Also, don't be scared by those who say that it tends to crash under Windows. I've worked with it many times, and have yet to encounter a problem.
