optiplex 745 onboard video

    .my PC is only recognizing the onboard video occasionally. Replace or is it something else. it's a dell optiuplex 745.

    It's a 5 year old computer and a low end video card. Replacing it could be pretty cheap but since its an older computer if it isn't dead then it won't help much. Try to update your drivers:

    Im using an GX745. I got it on Ebay for £80 I think, came with no graphics card, but a 250Gb hard drive and i just put a 512Mg Graphics card in it to give me dual screens. These GX745s can be found easily on Ebay as companies tend to dispose of them after 3 years, as 3 years is the standard time that these computers are used for before getting rid of them.

    If money is tight then adding a video card would be great. One of the things you can update where you notice a difference. Just watch price of card and other possible upgrades versus the cost of replacing it.
