    hi hardware ganstas
this is a Dell Opti GX520 - nice little box working well. but just doing some updating, I have run the A05 rev of the intel 945 Express drivers but still doesn't seem to have the SM Bus Controller installed correctly.
Or is this a false !bang from Windows? I have had a lot of HP, CPQ, Dell boxes but never seen ONLY the SM Bus with the big yellow bang. its usually a string of stuff missing....

    anyone have a clue?

The chipset driver from Dell should sort it, if my memory is up to scratch, failing that, try at the Intel Support site.

    Hi

Which Windows version you using? The defualt one that the PC came with was XP but if different used now, please advise.

But satrow is correct, the SMbus is part of the Chipset driver, install and reboot and should be corrected, may have just been a corruption in part of the driver files.

thanks guys. I went back and see that they had a video driver named "chipset driver" which I took in a hurry. the REAL chipset driver was in its bin where I shoulda looked.

    all is kosher
