    You can then use the HDD for backup. Just remember, if you are going to install the programs you currently have, monitor every install - startups, services, tasks. I have had a program that installed a service that used 1 GB of RAM - imagine what that did to my PC's startup! And when you uninstall a program, use Revo Uninstaller. It's not perfect but, will remove most of the orphaned files, folders and registry entries.
