XP Pro, SP3, current updates, Comodo firewall, A^2 AV, Lenovo T60p Dual CPU - 2.1 ghz, 15.6" screen, 3 Gb computer memory, 3 cent operator memory

Not yet having gotten into hard drives of the current genre I have no clue of of whether there are any constraints on their use.

I've heard that solid state drives cannot be used on Windows XP Pro. Do hard drives at or above the terabyte level have any special system requirements.

Not true, though Vista and Win 7 are much easier to install on ssds.
From my reading, before you can install XP (any version) you have to align the partitions on the ssd. It sounds complicated and not something I'd want to tackle.
    Here it is explained: http://club.myce.com/f138/ssd-faq-297856/
