If Nick Nolte doesn't get best supporting actor in warrior there's something wrong with the world.

Hmmm War Horse now there's a surprise :-D I've gone off Spielberg movies they're too cheesy for me.

Marilyn Manson: "The Beautiful People... The Beautiful People!" (are usually the winners, of course... it is simply the nature of the business)

Sometimes they pick 'not-known-for-their good-looks' actors. For instance I always thought Edward G. Robinson had quite the "sour puss" on him. Although he never nominated for an Academy Award for 'Best Actor' he was actually selected for an 'Honorary Academy Award' for his work in the film industry, which was posthumously awarded (two months after his death from cancer in 1973). He was also included in the American Film Institute's list of the "25 Greatest Male Stars in American Cinema."
