ouch :(

i fell off my bike the other day (damn tourists!!) and landed conveniently on my chin. I'm now feeling rather stupid because every time i yawn/open my mouth wide etc the scab splits and bleeds :cry

any body else got random/arkward injuries?

Good Grief Laura, my seatbelt cracked some ribs in an accident a few years back. That hurt!! I don't see how you lifted your baby after that. I had a hard enough sitting myself up.

@ runningcart, try keeping it moist with vaseline or something like that.

who do you take me for motc7???? some kind of masochist who did it on purpose, or an egotist who constantly films themselves? i'm sure the chinese have many pictures of it seeing as they all stood and watched me fly over the handle bars, just so i didn't run them over
i'll get the camera out and see what i can do for you, though its over a week since i fell off so its not as bad as it was

I remember getting hit in the chin with a football (English round version :-D ) at close range with a LOT of power, dunno what happend exactly but my jaw kind of locked up, I could'nt close my mouth for 2 days, was open about 1 inch , I looked like I was constantly confused.... and I'm not even going to talk about the dribbling :-D
Imagine me of all people, not being able to shut my mouth... and not because I'm talking :-D

 

hehe @ned. the round football = the only true football and i should probably soften the brakes on my bike seeing as it is not the first time i've gone over that way lol, but every other time i've landed hands first...

Well thats much better, personally though, and this isn't me telling you what to do, it's just friendly advice... try not falling off at all, especially over the bars :-D

Although I remember when I was a kid and the BMX craze was at it's peak (early 80's) we made a small ramp for jumping, of course I thought it would be a good idea to try a 360 back flip... and it was a good idea... until I got 180 and suddenly realised I was no longer spinning... yep, came down on my head, crumpled in a heap... cried for hours because I cracked my helmet

i think its in the genes tbh: dad goes on weekly bike ride with his mates and they frequently get thrown off (he's needed 3 new helmets in the last year); and of course my bro decided that it would be a good idea, for a bet of £5, to try a jump backwards (as in from the low end to the high end) on a town bike. lets just say, he made a loss on that bet seeing as his mates only gave him £4 out of the £5 because he didn't make the jump, then had to give up his paper round money because he couldn't do it for several weeks due to his broken arm. LOL
