out of action

hi folks i am posting to say i will be off line for about 2 weeks.

i have to return to hospital today(thursday) for the rest of my surgery.

as some of you know i had a serious accident last year and damaged my neck and back well they did my neck last year by screwing the bones together (just like Herman Munster) now it's time for them to do my back.

i have to go in today so they can make the metal supports for the corsett that i have to wear after surgery and tommorrow morning is the operation they tell me it takes about 5 hours so i should get a good sleep.

Hey all you wonderfull guys n gals thanks for the wishes you really are a breed apart my wife just said to me they give you more thought than our family so thanks again.

i have posted this here so that you should all get this in your personal boxses.

what has happened is i got my operation last friday and my surgeon said it was succesfull (so my new hard drive is installed) the recovery will take about 6 months total they have put two 4 inch titanium supports alongside my spine and they are held there with 6 screws.

the great thing is i can now feel my feet (i had forgotten they were there)and should soon be walking.

i am able to do this post thanks to another guy here in the hospital who told me about THE HOT SPOT where we can use the hospital network(and its leagal,i have asked) so i got my wife to bring in the laptop this morning (thursday 21st) and here we are.

i am still very weak so it has taken me 2 hours and three sittings to do this i'm a bit out of it from the heavy medication they are giving me for the pain so i have to work in my more lucid moments the only downside is that i am in a part of the hospital that deals with bone problems and it is not pleasant to see so many young men here after road accidents.

but now i am back on line am reading MGs with great interest and thanks again (am i going over the top with the thanks?????)

Great news Bill, must have been some surgery, glad to hear all went well. Nice to have communication in the hosp other then a tv, it can get mighty boring. Good to hear from you so soon. Welcome back. Is that smiley how you feel? Nurses beware LOL

 

That's great news Bill and an excellent sober post for someone all doped up. I wish you a speedy recovery.

 

Should be interesting at airport security if you have to fly home.

Hey Bill! Good to hear op was a success. However, please take care of yourself first and don't overdo it. Focus on getting your body better and strong...MG will still be here when you're ready, so don't rush it. Focus more time on those physio exercises (aquatherapy would be a great start) rather than trying to sit up with pain killers at a keyboard. You'll have plenty of time for that later.
