Outlook 2000 inop after SP2 install

Hello all.....

Outlook won't launch, either. I have the .pst folder from before the install, but it's not in the same place on this version.

I get an error message about some "ordnal 223 dll missing" something or other.

Btw-my audio card doens't work, either, but I suppose I should post that in the hardware forum.

Huh... Try a repair installation of office 2000. Does your other apps work? Like Word, Exel, and Powerpoint?

 

Not sure how, but I got it working.

 

Excellent. Though, others, myself included, would love to know the steps you took to get it working!

Sorry it took so long to respond; I've had other probs with the install, but looking at my inadequate notes here's a rough idea of what I did:

Somehow, I discovered that the file causing the problem was "shdocvw.dll"
I located the file; can't remember if it was on XP disk, or SP2 disk.....
Went to command prompt; copy d:\shdocvw.dll c:\windows\system32\servicepackfiles\i386\
Once this file was reinstalled, it worked fine.

BTW another symptom I had was that the Help feature didn't work, either. Kept getting the same error message. After I reinstalled shdocvw.dll, Help feature began working as well
