Thanks, MS Outlook, XP home edition. So far I've just run detect and repair from the help menu, I've swtched off and rebooted, and I tryed to open the rules wizard from the Organizer, no joy.

Still no joy, this sure is time consuming. I've tryed a few more things: I checked if the same copy of MS Outook works correctly on my other PC to my joy it did! I thought great I'll double check so I Uninstalled and reinstalled it still worked. However, this turned out to be a complete waste of time when I tryed this on my office PC. The only difference I can make out between the two PC's is that the office PC has Norton internet security 2006 and the othe has an earlier version of Norton. I also tryed to play around with a search to find the wizard file I came across RWIZ1.ECF but no joy there either. Bottomed out!!!! Can anyone help please.

Hmm, maybe try disabling Norton Email scanning, and the spam filter and the office add-in plug-ins, and test (should be available within the Norton settings; if you have trouble finding them, let us know; I'm not real familiar with the Norton screens but I bet someone else here is)

Also, try it in outlook safe mode (start->run: outlook /safe), let us know if it works!

If that fails, maybe try a new Outlook profile (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287072/en-us; make sure you don't miss the "prompt for a profile" section), and test the rules wizard in the new, blank profile. If it works, you can import information from the broken profile as per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287070/en-us, and export and import the rules by going into the rules wizards, and options->export (I THINK... been a while since I worked with Outlook XP  ). Make sure you keep the old profile around .

    Hope this helps!
