Acer Aspire 5741 laptop, Windows 7, Office 2003. I recently migrated everything from my old HP laptop to my new Acer using Belkin Easy Transfer. Everything was pretty hunky-dory with only a few glitches that I was able to fix. The one problem I can't fix is Outlook. When I start an email or want to forward an email, the pull-down for the address book is empty. My contacts are all there, and if I start to type an address in the address line, it pops up all the possibles. Data management in Outlook shows my .pst files as well as some extra files that were added when I tried to do some re-installs, ie: outlook1, archive1, etc. It's like the path is missing to the contacts/address-book. I've tried the repair utility on the Office disc, I've tried a repair from the Microsoft website, and I've tried removing and re-installing the .pst files. When I try to do a .pst export I get an error. I thought I could have Outlook re-establish a path with a export-import but I can't can't even get it to export. All the stuff is there, it's just not connecting. Help!
Thanks in advance anyone that can help!

Thanks Halo for the quick response! Unfortunately, it didn't work. When I went into the Contact Folder/Properties, of course it was grayed out. When I tried to remove the Outlook Address Book under Email accounts, it gave me the error message "The requested operation failed." The "Outlook Address Book-MAPI" was not present in the box anymore but after restarting, it re-appeared. If I tried to add an address book after trying to remove it, I got the error message "This account or directory type already exists and cannot be specified twice."
When I tried to address the ghosting issue in the article, I couldn't find the addressing list in tools-options.
There must be another issue somewhere. Because the export feature isn't working; "The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook", is it possible to park my .pst files somewhere, delete Office (w/Outlook) and re-install?

    Thanks Again,
