I hate to admit it but I am just about half nuts with this crazy faulty Installer which I think is behind my Outlook 2007 doing all sorts of weird things. I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling both Windows Installer (I think) and Outlook with NO success at all.

ANY advice is appreciated. Any hints on uninstalling, downloading, and reinstalling Installer? Where to download, and how to do this step by step?

    Thanks much in advance.

What OS and did you check your OS for malware, symptoms of malware are installer problems and weird things. You didn't give enough info in order for others to help you...

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate. The antivirus/malware software I have been using are SystemSuite8 and Avira. I have wondered if it might be worthwhile to run a couple of different Antiviral apps in case one might pick up something the others haven't. Any suggestions?

    Thank You.

Never heard of System Suite 8, but it's compatible w/Vista. Notice it has a lot of utilities re performance and Anti-Virus Protection Spyware Remover & Blocker, Anti-Spam Control, Fraud & Phising Prevention, Net Defense, Firewall PC Maintence.

Do you have two active anti scanners going, Avira and this suite 8?

You did not say what the "wierd" behavior is, could be scanners or settings on your suite causing.

If you just want to check your PC you can run Malwareytes and SuperAntiSpyware but make sure you don't have two active anti already running.

I will try running just one app at a time first.
The strange behavior of Outlook is that when I try to enter a new appointment the program locks up and stops completely. Just shuts down. Now it has become worse where it will also shut down when cancelling a reminder. It is escalating to the point where more and more variety of things I do with it cause it to shutdown and turn off.
