I'm using Office Outlook 2007 on Win7 and have found an annoying curiosity. I frequently must double-click on the "X" to delete an item as well as the right-click Context Menu option for deletion. This slows me down quite a bit. Advanced Options are not set to warn before deletion. Advice please.

    Hi

Not seen this accurance on the 3 PCs I have Win7 and Office 2007 Outlook, on, so now wondering if a 3rd party add-in is causing this, what Antivirus software do you have installed?

Is this PC and Outlook on a corporate network or using Microsoft Exchange Server?

What you could try is to disable all 3rd party add-in and see if that helps, then enable one at a time until you notice the slowness again and thats your culprit.

To disable add-ons follow this, click Tools > Trust Center > Add-ins and in the bottom box next to Manage click from the dropdown COM Add-ins and click Go, then untick all none Microsoft add-ins (or ones you know that are not Microsoft ones, if in doubt untick it) then close and re-open Outlook and test.

Thanks for the response. I've reviewed 3rd party software and find nothing that appears to be causing this problem. Could it be that Outlook 2007 should be running in XP Mode on Win7. There are large amounts of sporadic emails that dont come in sequence that need to be deleted and this problem is a definite slow down.
